...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH
SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Light icing possible. Total ice accumulations around one
tenth of an inch possible.

* WHERE...Neshoba, Noxubee, Scott, Simpson and Smith counties in
Mississippi.

* WHEN...From late Saturday night through Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the
ice. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, could become
slick and hazardous in areas of light icing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.

Persons should delay travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden
changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.

...EXTREME COLD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills between 5 below and 10 above
possible with temperatures between zero to 15 above possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana, and
central and south Mississippi.

* WHEN...From Sunday evening through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals
have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
