For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 5 degrees above zero are expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana, and central, east central, north central, northeast, northwest, south central, southeast, southwest, and west central Mississippi. * WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 3 AM to 6 PM CST Saturday. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM Saturday to 10 AM CST Sunday. * IMPACTS...An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.Very cold wind chills can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Drain in-ground sprinkler systems and cover above ground pipes. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.
