The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
South Central Harrison County in southern Mississippi...

* Until 445 PM CDT.

* At 140 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2.5 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Gulfport, Biloxi, Long Beach and Gulfport Airport.

This includes the following Interstate...
Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 35 and 39.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southern Mississippi, including the following
counties, Harrison and Jackson.

* WHEN...Until 430 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 121 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Long Beach, Pass Christian,
St. Martin, D'iberville, Latimer, Gulf Hills, Gulf Park
Estates and Gulfport Airport.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO LATE SUNDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wolf River above Gulfport.

* WHEN...From this evening to late Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Bells Ferry Road will begin to flood. There
will be water over the access road just upstream of the bridge and
the road will become impassable very quickly.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 5.4 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this evening to a crest of 8.5 feet tomorrow morning. It
will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning.
- Flood stage is 8.0 feet.

- At 9:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 11.3 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this afternoon to a crest of 12.5 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
