* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
as low as -2 degrees in the north and 5 degrees in the south are
expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as
low as 5 above expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana, and
central, east central, north central, northeast, northwest, south
central, southeast, southwest, and west central Mississippi.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, from 3 AM to 6 PM CST
Saturday. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM Saturday to 10
AM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. Wind chill values
can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Very cold
temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph will
result in even lower wind chills at times Friday night and
Saturday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to
drip slowly.

Drain in-ground sprinkler systems and cover above ground pipes.
