* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Cooper County in central Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 500 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1216 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Boonville, Pilot Grove, Otterville, Bunceton, Prairie Home,
Wooldridge, Lamine and Clifton City.

MORNING FOR WESTERN COOPER, PETTIS AND SOUTHERN SALINE COUNTIES IN
CENTRAL MISSOURI AND NORTHEASTERN HENRY, EASTERN JOHNSON AND
SOUTHEASTERN LAFAYETTE COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI...

At 1210 AM CDT, the public reported flash flooding in the Clinton
area, with heavy rain spreading into Pettis and Saline counties.
Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall
amounts of 0.5 to 2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash
flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Sedalia, Warrensburg, Marshall, Clinton, Windsor, Knob Noster,
Concordia, Sweet Springs, Whiteman Air Force Base, La Monte,
Smithton, Green Ridge, Calhoun, Otterville, Houstonia, Whiteman
Afb, Coal, Emma, Nelson and Hughesville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Kansas, including the following areas, Johnson
KS, Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami and Wyandotte and Missouri,
including the following areas, Adair, Bates, Caldwell, Carroll,
Cass, Chariton, Clay, Clinton, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Jackson,
Johnson MO, Lafayette, Linn MO, Livingston, Macon, Pettis, Platte,
Randolph, Ray and Saline.

* WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall will continue through
early Thursday morning across much of central Missouri and
far eastern Kansas.  Flash flooding has already been reported
in some areas, with more flooding expected in the watch area,
especially in central Missouri, overnight.

SATURDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Lamine River near Otterville.

* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to early Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, low lying woodlands and fields along the
river flood.
At 18.0 feet, some gravel roads upstream and downstream from
Otterville are under water. In addition State Highway 135 may be
overtopped by flood waters 2 miles north of Clifton City.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:15 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 7.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 16.4 feet early Friday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday
morning.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

- At 7:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 16.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.8
feet Thursday evening. It will then fall below flood stage
early Friday morning.
