PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. ...Heat Indices Approaching 100 This Afternoon... Hot and humid conditions will be seen across the area this afternoon, especially the Interstate 80 corridor on south. Heat indices are expected to be 95 to 100 for much of the afternoon hours. Some localized areas may see heat indices briefly above 100 during the mid to late afternoon hours.
