* WHAT...For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions
with heat index values up to 100-110. For the Heat Advisory, heat
index values up to 100-105 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kansas and north central, northeast,
and northwest Missouri.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 9 PM CDT Friday. For the
Heat Advisory, from 9 PM Friday to 8 PM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high
humidity may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Several days of extreme heat will impact the
region with poor heat relief during the overnight hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
