* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central Kansas, including the following
counties, Johnson, Linn and Miami and west central Missouri,
including the following counties, Cass, Clay, Jackson and Ray.

* WHEN...Until noon CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is occurring or expected. Some roads
remain closed due to flooding. Expect areas of slow moving or
standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 814 AM CDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain
in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing
or expected. Between 2.5 and 7.0 inches of rain have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee's
Summit, Blue Springs, Leawood, Raytown, Liberty, Grandview,
Belton, Prairie Village, Raymore, Grain Valley, Excelsior
Springs, Harrisonville, Kearney, Pleasant Hill, Oak Grove and
Paola.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 556 AM CDT, the transportation department reported heavy
rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
already occurring.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Marshall, Oak Grove, Richmond, Odessa, Higginsville,
Lexington, Carrollton, Concordia, Slater, Salisbury, Sweet
Springs, Brunswick, Waverly, Orrick, Wellington, Norborne,
Hardin, Keytesville, Hale and Corder.
- Flooding has closed Highway UU in Carroll County and Highway
VV and State Highway 127 in Saline County

- At 4:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 13.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this morning to a crest of 21.4 feet this afternoon. It will
then fall below flood stage late this afternoon.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
