...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT TONIGHT FOR KNOX, LEWIS, NORTHWESTERN MARION AND SHELBY COUNTIES IN NORTHEASTERN MISSOURI... At 1035 PM CDT, much of the heavy rainfall had ended across the warned area, however additional lighter rain continued. It will take some time for waters to recede. Low lying areas near creeks and rivers as well as other poor drainage areas will be most susceptible to flooding. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Canton, Edina, La Grange, Clarence, La Belle, Shelbyville, Lewistown, Ewing, Knox City, Steffenville, Plevna, Colony, Emden, Philadelphia, Maywood, Greensburg, Taylor, Hurdland, Novelty and Baring. This includes the following State Parks... Wakonda State Park. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
