...EXTREME HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY TO 9 PM CDT
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values of 105 to
110 expected. Low temperatures Saturday night will remain in the
mid 70s to lower 80s, providing little relief from the heat.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central,
southeast, and west central Minnesota and northwest and west
central Wisconsin.

* WHEN...From noon Saturday to 9 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...South Fork Crow River below Mayer.

* WHEN...Until late Sunday night.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Carver County Road 123 is closed north of
Highway 7 to 42nd Street.
At 12.0 feet, Flooding affects Mill Avenue from Watertown to the
Wright County line; Yancy Avenue between Carver County Road 30 and
78th Street; Vega Avenue between Carver County Road 33 and 94th
Street; and the intersection of Union Avenue and 82nd Street.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 830 PM CDT Wednesday, the stage was 11.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 830 PM CDT Wednesday was 11.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.8
feet early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood
stage Sunday evening.
