...STRONG WINDS AND ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL MINNESOTA... Strong southerly winds around 20 to 25 mph with gusts 30 to 40 mph are expected today. Occasional localized gusts up to 45 mph are possible. These strong winds may blow around loose objects. If you're driving a high profile vehicle, be sure to slow down, especially in open and elevated areas where winds may be stronger. A combination of the strong winds, well above normal temperatures, and dry fuels will result in elevated fire weather conditions this afternoon across southern and central Minnesota. These conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning.
