...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...East-central Itasca County and west-central St. Louis
County.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 542 AM CDT Wednesday, Doppler radar and automated rain
gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will
cause urban flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will
cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3
inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hibbing, Chisholm, Mountain Iron, Coleraine, Keewatin, Buhl,
Nashwauk, Cherry, Taconite, Pengilly, Hill Annex Mine State
Park, McCarthy Beach State Park, Trout Lake Near Bovey, Perch
Lake, Bovey, Marble, Hart Lake, Calumet and Swan Lake.
- Areas between Coleraine and Hibbing have experienced the
heaviest rainfall overnight where urban minor flooding is
most likely.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Crow Wing, northern Aitkin, Itasca, Cass,
Cook, Lake and central and northern St. Louis Counties. This
includes the Tribal Lands of the Grand Portage Reservation, the
Mille Lacs Band, Big Sandy Lake area and the Bois Forte Band, Lake
Vermilion, Nett Lake and, Deer Creek areas. Other locations
including Voyageurs National Park. The entire Boundary Waters is
also included.

* WHEN...Through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are forecast through late
Wednesday night. This heavy rainfall may fall on top of
already saturated soils from other recent heavy rainfall and
lead to excessive runoff. Flash flooding is possible.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
