...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 9 PM CDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 102 expected. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Minnesota. * WHEN...From 1 PM to 9 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
