The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM CDT Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, Koochiching, North St. Louis, Northern Cook and Lake, North Itasca, Central St. Louis, North Cass, South Itasca, South Cass, Crow Wing, Northern Aitkin, South Aitkin, Carlton and South St. Louis and Pine. * WINDS...South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...RH improves slightly overnight to between 35 to 55 percent before again falling to critically low values again on Monday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.
