...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING THROUGH LATE
TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Pine, South Itasca, Cook, Lake, Carlton, St.
Louis and Aitkin Counties and Wisconsin, Bayfield, Burnett,
Douglas and Washburn Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of
the Fond du Lac Band, the Red Cliff Band, the Grand Portage
Reservation, the St. Croix Band in Burnett County, the Mille Lacs
Band, Big Sandy Lake, Hinckley, Lena Lake and, East Lake areas and
the Bois Forte Band, Nett Lake and, Lake Vermilion areas. Other
locations including the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and
Voyageurs National Park. The entire Boundary Waters is also
included.

* WHEN...From 7 PM CDT this evening through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Thunderstorms are expected to develop later this afternoon
through this evening. While the storms should be progressive,
they should produce torrential rainfall rates. Soils are
fairly saturated from recent rainfall which gives less space
for water to soak in leading to rapid runoff.
