...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 10 PM CDT SUNDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA... The National Weather Service in Duluth has upgraded the Fire Weather Watch on Sunday to a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM to 10 PM CDT Sunday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued for wind and low relative humidity on Monday. This Fire Weather Watch is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, Koochiching, North St. Louis, Northern Cook and Lake, North Itasca, Central St. Louis, North Cass, South Itasca, South Cass, Crow Wing, Northern Aitkin, South Aitkin and Carlton and South St. Louis. * WINDS...South 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
