...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 100.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Crow Wing, Aitkin, Pine, Cass, and Carlton
and South St. Louis Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield,
Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Sawyer, and Washburn Counties. This
includes the Tribal Lands of the northwestern area of the Lac du
Flambeau Band, the Bad River Reservation, the St. Croix Band in
Burnett County, the Red Cliff Band, the Fond du Lac Band, the Lac
Courte Oreilles Reservation and the Mille Lacs Band, Big Sandy
Lake, Hinckley, Lena Lake and, East Lake areas. Other locations
including Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National
Lakeshore.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR NORTH-CENTRAL AND
NORTHEAST MINNESOTA...

* AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, North Itasca, Central St. Louis,
Southern Lake, Southern Cook, North Cass, South Itasca and
Carlton and South St. Louis.

* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent.

* IMPACTS...The rapid spread of any fires may occur due to the
forecast weather conditions and dry fuels per guidance from
local land management agencies.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning on Monday means that critical fire weather
conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A
combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm
temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
