...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 PM
CDT THIS EVENING FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR...

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 1 PM this afternoon to 6 PM CDT this evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, South Cass and Crow Wing.

* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 18 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

...NEAR CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY FOR PORTIONS OF
NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST MINNESOTA...

Dry conditions and breezy winds will lead to near critical fire
weather conditions today. West to northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph
with gusts of 20 to 25 mph are forecast for this afternoon and
early evening. Minimum relative humidity values of 15 to 25
percent are also expected. Together, these conditions could lead
to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire
danger before burning.
