NORTHEAST MINNESOTA...

Dry conditions and breezy winds will lead to near critical fire
weather conditions Thursday. South winds of 10 to 20 mph with
gusts of 20 to 30 mph are forecast. Minimum relative humidity
values of 20 to 30 percent are also expected. Together, these
conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning
restrictions and fire danger before burning.

* WHAT...Dense fog will reduce visibility to 1/4 NM or less.

* WHERE...Portions of Lake Superior.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility will make navigation difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Visibility will be more than 1 NM this
afternoon into early evening within at least a mile or two from
shore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.

THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Carlton and South St. Louis, Southern Cook
and Southern Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield,
Douglas, and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the
Fond du Lac Band, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau
Band, the Grand Portage Reservation, the Bad River Reservation and
the Red Cliff Band. Other locations including Madeline Island and
the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 10 AM CDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Fog will develop tonight around Lake Superior
and will be dense overnight. Visibility will improve Thursday
morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If driving, slow down, use your low-beam headlights and fog lights,
and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
