...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding continues that was caused by
excessive rainfall that fell Friday night.

* WHERE...Southwest Cook, central and southern Lake and east-central
St. Louis Counties.

* WHEN...Until 130 PM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...River or stream flows are elevated. Flooding is
occurring on area rivers that are popular for waterfall viewing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 455 AM CDT Saturday, Doppler radar and automated rain
gauges show heavy rain that fell Friday night into early
Saturday morning. This will cause small stream flooding.
Rapid river rises will cause minor flooding in the advisory
area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain fell Friday night into
early Saturday morning.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Silver Bay, Babbitt, Clear Lake, Lutsen, Tofte, Dumbbell
Lake, Forest Center, Isabella, Finland, George Manitou State
Park, Snowbank Lake, Little Marais, southeastern Boundary
Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Tettegouche State Park, Sugar
Loaf Cove, Illgen City, Whyte, Taconite Harbor and Temperance
River State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Visitors to area waterfalls should be careful around rivers that
will have slippery rocks, cliffs, and strong currents.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR NORTHEASTERN ITASCA AND CENTRAL ST. LOUIS COUNTIES...

At 453 AM CDT Saturday, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated that heavy rain had ended in the warned area. Between 3
and 4 inches of rain fell Friday night into early Saturday morning.
Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain that fell Friday
night.

SOURCE...Automated gauges and Doppler radar indicated very heavy
rainfall.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Hibbing, Virginia, Chisholm, Eveleth, Mountain Iron, Hoyt Lakes,
Gilbert, Aurora, Babbitt, Keewatin, Buhl, Nashwauk, Biwabik,
Cherry, Embarrass, McCarthy Beach State Park, Perch Lake,
Franklin, Kinney and Stony Brook.

High flows in area creeks and streams are likely to continue even
after the flash flooding ends.

Water over roadways and in urban paved areas is expected especially
in the Quad Cities on the Iron Range.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather
Service at 1-800-685-8612.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM CDT
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Hot conditions with heat index values up to between 95 and
99 expected expected during the afternoon into early evening both
today and Sunday.

* WHERE...Koochiching, North Itasca, Carlton, St. Louis, and
Northern Cook and Lake Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of
the Fond du Lac Band and the Bois Forte Band, Nett Lake, Deer
Creek and, Lake Vermilion areas. Other locations including
Voyageurs National Park. The entire Boundary Waters is also
included.

* WHEN...From noon today to 9 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
