At 408 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Belle Isle, or near Downtown Detroit, moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Winds up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Grosse Pointe, Downtown Detroit, Detroit, Dearborn, Belle Isle,
Lincoln Park, Allen Park, Hamtramck, Grosse Pointe Woods, Harper
Woods, Highland Park, Grosse Pointe Park, Melvindale, Ecorse, Grosse

At 354 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds up to 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from 9 nm northwest of Wyandotte to near
Grosse Ile to 8 nm east of Monroe Harbor, moving northeast at 50
knots.

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan, including the following
areas, Bay, Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Oakland,
Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola, Washtenaw and
Wayne.

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks
and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- 1 to 3 inches of rain fell this morning across southeast
Michigan, leading to rises in area rivers and reports of
minor flooding. A second round of rain is expected this
afternoon and evening, with potential for additional amounts
to reach or exceed one inch. The primary concerns are for
additional rises in rivers and areal flooding, although
localized flash flooding cannot be entirely ruled out.
