At 354 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds up to 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 nm northwest of Wyandotte to near Grosse Ile to 8 nm east of Monroe Harbor, moving northeast at 50 knots. strong thunderstorms will be near... The Ambassador Bridge and Wyandotte around 400 PM EDT. Belle Isle around 405 PM EDT. St. Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe around 410 PM EDT. Mt Clemens Harbor Of Refuge and Metro Beach Metropark Marina around 420 PM EDT. St Clair Flats Old Channel Light and New Baltimore around 425 PM EDT. Algonac around 435 PM EDT. ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan, including the following areas, Bay, Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Oakland, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola, Washtenaw and Wayne. * WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - 1 to 3 inches of rain fell this morning across southeast Michigan, leading to rises in area rivers and reports of minor flooding. A second round of rain is expected this afternoon and evening, with potential for additional amounts to reach or exceed one inch.
