...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 below expected. * WHERE...Alcona, Crawford, Iosco, Kalkaska, Missaukee, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Roscommon, and Wexford Counties. * WHEN...Until 11 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. * WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST this morning. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body heat. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions. &&
