...GALE WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Southwest gales to 40 knots veering to the northwest. Waves 7 to 10 feet. * WHERE...St Joseph to Manistee. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A strong cold front will surge through this nearshore waters this morning which will bring gale force winds. This will likely occur between 6am and 10am. Winds will shift to the northwest into the midday hours and another push of gale force winds will work through the nearshore waters. Waves will build to around 10 feet today. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions. &&
