THROUGH MONDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, snow. Additional snow
accumulations between 2 and 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40
mph leading to significant blowing snow this evening. For the
Winter Storm Watch, heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow
and sleet accumulations between one and two feet and ice
accumulations between one tenth to one quarter of an inch
possible. Locally higher snow and ice amounts will be possible.
Highest snow amounts will be north of M-68 and highest icing south
of M-68. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Beaver Island and surrounding islands, and Cheboygan,
Emmet, and Presque Isle Counties.

* WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 2 AM EDT Saturday. For
the Winter Storm Watch, from late Saturday night through Monday
evening.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the
ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Friday evening and Monday morning commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

* WHERE...Straits of Mackinac within 5 nm of Mackinac Bridge
including Mackinac Island, St Ignace to False Detour Channel,
5NM East of Mackinac Bridge to Presque Isle Light MI including
Bois Blanc Island, Presque Isle Light to Sturgeon Pt MI
Including Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary and Sturgeon
Pt to Alabaster MI.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous highest waves
which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
