...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 AM EDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northern Michigan, including the following
counties, Gladwin, Iosco, Ogemaw and Roscommon.

* WHEN...Until 645 AM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1242 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated areas of heavy rain
due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5
inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Oscoda, East Tawas, West Branch, Tawas City, Au Sable, St.
Helen, Long Lake, Rose City, Whittemore, Rifle River State
Park, Selkirk, Skidway Lake, Hale, National City, Plainfield
Township, Bowmanville, Twin Lakes Area, Tawas Point State
Park, Nester Township and Wurtsmith Airfield.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of Eastern Upper and Northern Lower Michigan,
including the following areas, in Eastern Upper Michigan, Central
Chippewa, Eastern Mackinac, Southeast Chippewa, Western Chippewa
and Western Mackinac. In Northern Lower Michigan, Alcona, Alpena,
Arenac, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Emmet, Gladwin,
Grand Traverse, Iosco, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee,
Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle, Roscommon and
Wexford.

* WHEN...Through late Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
