* WHAT...For the Storm Warning, northeast becoming northerly
winds 35 to 45 kt with gusts up to 55 kt and waves 20 to 25 ft
expected. For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing
spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater expected, and may
rapidly accumulate on vessels.

* WHERE...Point Isabelle to Lower Entrance of Portage Canal MI,
Lower Entrance of Portage Canal To Huron Islands MI Including
Keweenaw and Huron Bays, Lake Superior West of Line from
Manitou Island to Marquette MI Beyond 5NM from shore, Lake
Superior East of a line from Manitou Island to Marquette MI
and West of a line from Grand Marais MI to the US/Canadian
Border Beyond 5NM from shore and Lake Superior from Grand
Marais MI to Whitefish Point MI 5NM off shore to the
US/Canadian border.

* WHEN...For the Storm Warning, from 10 PM Sunday to 1 AM EST
Tuesday. For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, from 3 AM
Monday to 7 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Storm force winds and hazardous waves will capsize
or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Mariners should remain in port, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

...LAKESHORE FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM MONDAY TO 1 AM EST
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Significant lakeshore flooding expected.

* WHERE...Marquette and Alger Counties.

* WHEN...From 1 AM Monday to 1 AM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads closed and low lying property
including parking lots, lawns, and homes and businesses will
be inundated near the lake. Some shoreline erosion will occur.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.

Blizzard Warning
Issued: 8:01 PM Dec. 27, 2025 – National Weather Service
...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM SUNDAY TO 7 PM EST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. A glaze of ice possible in
eastern Alger County Sunday morning before changing to heavy snow
Sunday evening. Total snow accumulations between 15 and 22 inches,
greatest amounts in areas of high terrain. Winds gusting as high
as 60 mph, strongest near Lake Superior.

* WHERE...Alger and Marquette Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM Sunday to 7 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may
down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel
will be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow will
significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will
impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could
cause tree damage.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with
your vehicle.
