AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations
between 3 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...Baraga, Marquette, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, and
Southern Houghton Counties.

* WHEN...Until 3 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult at times. Areas of blowing
snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Tuesday morning commute. Gusty winds
could bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect snowfall rates of one half inch to one
inch per hour for a period of 2 to 4 hours. This combined with
gusty winds will result in very poor visibility and travel
conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution if you must travel. Prepare for possible
power outages.

rapidly accumulate on vessels. For the Gale Warning, south
winds 15 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt and waves 1 to 4 ft
expected. For the Small Craft Advisory, west winds 15 to 25 kt
with gusts up to 30 kt and waves 2 to 5 ft expected.

* WHERE...Manitou Island to Point Isabelle MI, Point Isabelle to
Lower Entrance of Portage Canal MI, Lower Entrance of Portage
Canal To Huron Islands MI Including Keweenaw and Huron Bays
and Huron Islands to Marquette MI.

* WHEN...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, until 1 PM EST
this afternoon. For the Small Craft Advisory, from 1 PM this
afternoon to 7 PM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
