...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM CST MONDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 15 inches, highest north. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Localized blizzard conditions possible. * WHERE...Dickinson, Iron, and Menominee Counties. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM CST Monday. * IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Visiblity below a mile has been observed, and may fall to as low as a quarter mile at times. Additionally, freezing drizzle may mix in at times, leading to patchy slick spots on roadways. Be prepared for reduced visibility and slippery roadways overnight. Slow down and keep a safe distance from other vehicles.
