* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below.

* WHERE...Central Chippewa, Eastern Mackinac, Southeast Chippewa,
Western Chippewa, and Western Mackinac Counties, and Mackinac
Island/Bois Blanc Island.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Special Weather Statement
Issued: 3:52 PM Jan. 23, 2026 – National Weather Service
Lake effect snow showers and blowing snow will continue into this
evening with west-northwest winds between 10-20 mph and gusts to
around 35 mph. Reduced visibility is expected, especially across
open areas and along portions of US-2 exposed to northern Lake
Michigan. At 10:45 AM, emergency manager reported that US-2 is
closed between St. Ignace and Brevort due to low visibility and
multiple car accidents. Use caution if traveling today.
