...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...West winds 25 to 35 mph with frequent gusts of 50 to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...All of southeast Michigan. * WHEN...Until 9 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Reports indicate a considerable amount of ice still on trees and power lines in the Tri Cities and northern Thumb region making wind damage and power outages that much more likely. There is less ice farther south and no ice in the Detroit metro area, however cases of ice weakened tree branches also raise the potential for wind damage and power outages. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Avoid travel if possible. &&

...SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS USHER A POWERFUL COLD FRONT ACROSS SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN... WEATHER... * An area of showers crossing the US-23 corridor at mid evening occurs in very mild air spreading northward across metro Detroit. * Heavier showers and an isolated thunderstorm could produce wind gusts around 45 mph this evening, especially toward the Ohio border. * A powerful cold front crosses the region between 11 PM and 1 AM tonight. Southwest wind at 20 to 30 mph shifts west and increases to near 50 mph shortly after midnight. * Temperatures fall rapidly back below freezing during the late night period. IMPACTS...
