...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 AM EDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Michigan, including the following counties, Muskegon, Newaygo and Oceana. * WHEN...Until 330 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 919 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. - Rainfall of over an inch has already fallen as of 915pm. Rainfall rates over 1 inch per hour are occurring across portions of Oceana, Muskegon and Newaygo Counties. With additional heavy rain approaching the area off of Lake Michigan, therefore a Flood Warning has been issued. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Muskegon, Newaygo, White Cloud, Shelby, Muskegon Heights, Fremont, Roosevelt Park, North Muskegon, Whitehall, Montague, Lakewood Club, Hesperia, Grant, Norton Shores, Dalton, Croton, Holton, Bridgeton, New Era and Rothbury. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Expect moderate flooding on Sarrell Street in the City of Newaygo. Expect Flech Ave near the Anderson Flats area to be closed.
