* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, north winds 10 to 15 kt
with gusts up to 20 kt and waves 3 to 6 ft expected. For the
Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate
of 2 cm per hour or greater expected, and may rapidly
accumulate on vessels.

* WHERE...Black River to Ontonagon MI and Ontonagon to Upper
Entrance of Portage Canal MI.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/
this evening to 1 AM EST /midnight CST/ Saturday. For the
Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, from 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this
evening to 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability.
Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
