...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Lake effect snow. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will lead to blowing and drifting snow on Wednesday. * WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact commutes from this evening through New Year's Eve. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions. &&

For the Gale Watch, Highest gusts up to 40 kts from the northwest and highest waves around 8 feet possible. * WHERE...Portions of Lake Michigan. * WHEN...From Wednesday morning through late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous highest waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should consider altering plans to avoid possible hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for severe wind and highest waves. &&
