For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 105 possible. * WHERE...All of southeast Michigan. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from 2 PM Saturday to 8 AM EDT Sunday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Sunday morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Check with local emergency management officials for information on cooling center availability. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&

Michigan Waters of Lake Erie from Detroit River to North Cape MI... At 304 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms, capable of producing winds up to 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located near The Ambassador Bridge, moving east at 15 knots. The thunderstorms will be near... St. Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe around 325 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by the strong thunderstorm include Woodland Beach, Stony Point, Gibraltar, Estral Beach, and Detroit Beach. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds up to 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. &&
