...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 8 AM EDT SUNDAY... ...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...For the Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 101 expected. For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 106 possible. * WHERE...All of southeast Michigan. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 AM EDT Sunday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Sunday morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Check with local emergency management officials for information on cooling center availability. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. &&
