SATURDAY...

* WHAT...For the Gale Warning today, west winds to 30 knots with
gale force gusts up to 40 knots and waves 6 to 12 feet. For
the Small Craft Advisory, southwest winds 15 to 25 knots with
gusts up to 30 knots. Waves 5 to 10 feet today, then subsiding
to 2 to 5 feet tonight. Waves 3 to 6 feet Saturday-Saturday
evening building to 5 to 9 feet late Saturday night.

* WHERE...Michigan City IN to St Joseph MI.

* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 1 PM EST this afternoon.
For the Small Craft Advisory, from 1 PM this afternoon to 10
PM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A few gale force gusts to 35 knots
possible after midnight Saturday night. A gale watch may be
needed.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
