* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan, including the following
areas, Bay, Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Oakland,
Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola, Washtenaw and
Wayne.

* WHEN...Until midnight EDT tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks
and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- 1 to 3 inches of rain fell this morning across southeast
Michigan, leading to rises in area rivers and reports of
minor flooding. A second round of rain is expected this
afternoon and evening, with potential for additional amounts
to reach or exceed one inch. The primary concerns are for
additional rises in rivers and areal flooding, although
localized flash flooding cannot be entirely ruled out.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Shiawassee River at Owosso.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to early Monday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 12:15 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 7.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river is in minor flood stage and will rise to
8.0 feet by early tomorrow afternoon. It will fall below
flood stage again Monday morning to 6.5 feet Tuesday morning.
It will then rise to 6.8 feet Wednesday evening. It will fall
again and remain below flood stage.
- Flood stage is 7.0 feet.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan, including the following
county, Saginaw.

* WHEN...Until 215 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1108 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen with
reports of curb to curb flooding in downtown Saginaw.
Additional rainfall over the next 1 to 2 hours will
exacerbate any flooding issues in poor drainage areas.
- Additional rainfall amounts to 0.2 to 0.5 inches are possible
over the advisory area. This additional rain will result in
minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Saginaw, Frankenmuth, St. Charles, Freeland, Zilwaukee,
Merrill, Bridgeport, Carrollton, Nelson, Swan Creek,
Garfield, Arthur, Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge,
Shields, Buena Vista Township, Fosters, Indiantown, Hemlock
and Gera.
