Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability. ...LAKESHORE FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 7 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Significant lakeshore flooding expected. * WHERE...Keweenaw County. * WHEN...From 1 AM to 7 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads closed and low lying property including parking lots, lawns, and homes and businesses will be inundated near the lake. Some shoreline erosion will occur. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. &&
Blizzard Warning

...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM SUNDAY TO 7 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations between 14 and 21 inches, greatest amounts in areas of high terrain. Winds gusting as high as 65 mph, highest in the Keweenaw Peninsula north of Houghton. * WHERE...Baraga, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, and Southern Houghton Counties. * WHEN...From 7 PM Sunday to 7 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you.
