...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations up to 4 to 7 inches for a storm total of 4 to 8 inches. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Maine and southern New Hampshire. * WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...A snowstorm will bring plowable snow to the region with a period of moderate travel impacts expected. Periods of moderate snow and low visibility will be the biggest hazards. Heavy wet snow may cause weighted tree limbs, leading to snapped branches. Isolated outages possible. Periods of moderate and heavy snow will combine with low visibility to create dangerous driving conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...It is still possible that snow may mix with or change to rain for a period of time this afternoon or early this evening, especially close to the immediate coast. However this is the first significant snowfall threat of the season and hazardous travel is anticipated no matter how much snow accumulates. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
