Special Weather Statement
Issued: 6:05 PM Apr. 3, 2026 – National Weather Service
...Light Sleet or Freezing Drizzle This Afternoon, Flash Freeze Likely Tonight... Areas of light sleet or freezing drizzle across Northwest and Northeast Aroostook County will continue to create isolated to scattered areas of slick road conditions through 4PM. Remaining slushy road conditions in Northern Penobscot and all of Aroostook County may cause additional slick conditions. Temperatures are continuing to rise towards or above freezing which will improve conditions over the next 1 to 2 hours. Tonight, temperatures will fall rapidly below freezing between 9PM and 1AM, this will create the potential for a flash freeze and additional slick conditions. Snow showers falling on rapidly cooling roadways may increase the slick road travels. Use caution driving slowly and carefully if you must go out as conditions can rapidly change over short distances.
