For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110 expected. * WHERE...Interior Waldo, Kennebec, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, and Coastal Cumberland Counties. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the Extreme Heat Warning, from 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight low temperatures will only fall into the 70s, resulting in accumulated heat stress. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
