* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, northwest winds 25 to 35 mph
with gusts up to 60 mph expected. For the Extreme Cold Warning,
dangerously cold wind chills of 20 to 40 degrees below zero
expected.

* WHERE...In Maryland, Eastern Garrett and Extreme Western Allegany
Counties. In Virginia, Central Virginia Blue Ridge and Northern
Virginia Blue Ridge, and Western Highland County. In West
Virginia, Western Grant, Western Mineral, and Western Pendleton
Counties.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, until 10 AM EST Sunday. For
the High Wind Warning, until 10 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. The dangerously cold wind
chills could cause hypothermia and frostbite on exposed skin in as
little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

If you do not have heat in your home or lack shelter, you can call
211 or visit your county or city website for assistance locating
appropriate shelter from the cold.
