...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills of 8 below to 16 below in the valleys, and 10 below to 20 below on the ridges. * WHERE...Portions of north-central and western Maryland, northwest Virginia, and eastern West Virginia. * WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Sunday. * IMPACTS...The cold weather could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly.
