...Strong Easterly Winds and Locally Heavy Rainfall through Mid Morning... A strong storm system will bring strong easterly winds with gusts near 35 to 45 mph and brief periods of heavy rainfall through 10 AM this morning. The winds could result in minor tree damage and isolated power outages. Brief heavy downpours may cause minor flooding of urbanized, poor drainage, and low lying areas. Remain alert for changing weather conditions this morning. An additional period of strong westerly winds is forecast to occur during the day Friday, with gusts near 40 to 50 mph.

...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THURSDAY TO 3 AM EDT FRIDAY... * WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...Queen Annes, Talbot and Caroline. * WHEN...From 9 AM Thursday to 3 AM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in bayside communities and along tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood. Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.
