...A GUST FRONT APPROACHING THE WATERS... The areas affected include... Tidal Potomac from Indian Head to Cobb Island MD... Tidal Potomac from Key Bridge to Indian Head MD... At 419 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a front, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This front was located along a line extending from 17 nm northwest of Mason Neck State Park to 14 nm northwest of Leesylvania State Park to 24 nm west of Quantico to 31 nm west of Aquia Creek, moving east at 30 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. This front will likely produce winds to around 30 knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning may eventually be required when this front reaches the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before this front arrives. &&
