Southeastern Jefferson County in the Panhandle of West Virginia... * Until 415 PM EDT. * At 335 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Harpers Ferry, or near Charles Town, moving southeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles. * Locations impacted include... Charles Town, Purcellville, Ranson, Round Hill, Harpers Ferry, Corporation Of Ranson, Lovettsville, Bolivar, Hamilton, Hillsboro, Paeonian Springs, Waterford, Neersville, Halltown, Millville, Lincoln, and Hughesville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Sterling Virginia. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm.
