For the Small Craft Advisory, west winds 15 to 25 kt and seas around 3 feet expected. * WHERE...Nantucket Sound, Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay. * WHEN...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Friday. For the Small Craft Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to 4 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of stability. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area or conduct mitigation. During freezing spray conditions, the U.S. Coast Guard advises mariners to check and ensure all life-saving devices remain free of ice. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions. &&
