...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING THROUGH TUESDAY
EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, including the following
areas, Hartford CT, Tolland CT and Windham CT and Massachusetts,
including the following areas, Eastern Franklin MA, Eastern
Hampden MA, Eastern Hampshire MA, Northern Worcester MA, Southern
Worcester MA, Western Franklin MA, Western Hampden MA and Western
Hampshire MA.

* WHEN...From 8 PM EDT this evening through Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Storm drains and
ditches may become clogged with debris.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Several rounds of heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms are
expected to impact portions of interior Southern New England
tonight into Tuesday. This is an area which had received 1 to
1.5 inches of rain from the severe thunderstorms which moved
through on Saturday. Forecast rainfall amounts of 1.75 to 2.5
inches of rain are forecast through Tuesday evening, although
locally higher amounts up to 4 inches could be possible where
downpours are most persistent. This amount of rain could lead
to urban and poor drainage street flooding and rises to at or
over bankfull on some mainstem rivers and smaller creeks and
streams in northern Connecticut and western and central
Massachusetts.
