At 1022 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak waterspouts.
These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 nm
southeast of Timbalier Bay to near Southwest Pass Of the Mississippi
River, moving northeast at 15 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this activity passes.

Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on
alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.

This a strong thunderstorm will likely produce winds to around 30
knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine
warning may eventually be required when this activity reaches the
nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before
these storms arrive.
