At 919 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Metairie to near Jean Lafitte, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Woodmere, Lake Catherine, Violet, Terrytown, Meraux, Chalmette, Poydras, Marrero, Gretna, Lakefront Airport, Harvey, New Orleans, East New Orleans, Estelle, Shell Beach, Timberlane, Belle Chasse, Arabi, Jean Lafitte, and Jefferson.
